Game Summary: Very hard fought game. Kudos to YHT and their coaching staff for a good game plan. It was a hard hitting game that was unfortunately marred by too many penalties. Twelve on us and 3 on YHT. Both teams were guilty of illegal motion and holding but we ended up with most of the flags. Including one that cost us a touchdown in regulation. Good call though. Too bad they didn't catch number 70 (YHT's Left Guard) grabbing our player with both hands, turning and pulling him down in front of the umpire for the winning touchdown. However, we made plenty of mistakes and had too many miscues on offense to fault anyone but ourselves for the loss. The blame for the loss goes primarily to myself. I kept us in very basic packages on defense and stayed with base plays for a reason. Remember! This will most likely be a three round fight! The effort was there and we fought hard. The players did their best and that makes them winners regardless of what the score board shows. As for bad calls? That's life. We all have to deal with situations that don't seem fair. We'll just work harder so we can't be held next time. I'm confident that the referees are professionals and not purposely singling us out. Sometimes they have a bad day. Just like your coach!
October 3rd: Foxhill 14 Aberdeen Silver 6
Lineman of the week Offense: Sam Everett (1 Pancake and led all linemen with score of 78%)
Skills Player of the week Offense: Donyvyn Gary (1 Pancake, 30 for 30 on his blocking with score of 97%!)
Lineman of the week Defense: Nick Carrera (2 Solo tackles, 2 assists, 2 Tackles for a loss, 1 big play, and a critical sack towards the end of the game)
Skills Player of the week: CJ Barnes (1 tackle on kickoff, 1 Interception, 1 pass defended and a score of 96%!)
Scout Player of the week: Gabriel Edwards
Game Summary: Aberdeen stacked the box with 10 players. With the switch of positions we didn't want to put our new QB in a bad situation. So we were run heavy and Aberdeen knew it. Still, a great effort all around in being physical at the point of attack. Defensively we missed way too many tackles and the pass rush was a little inconsistent. But we turned them over on downs when it really mattered in the fourth quarter.
